For small and medium sized businesses, having gaps in their data, or non-relational data, is quite normal. Unfortunately this situation has a severe impact on Business Intelligence (BI) solutions in terms of speed and effectiveness.
locii Insight adapts to non relational data by “filling in the blanks” and highlighting them for users or management to act on. For example if historical transactions exist on an item or account that has subsequently been deleted, then Insight will automatically recreate the missing master records and assign them to a special category for management to correct.
In another example, some conventional reporting systems fail to show unposted transactions, which (due to being 'invisible' to the system) can remain unresolved for months, if at all. Insight can assign these automatically, providing a visible indicator of problems before they become a major issue.
Insight can also display transactional data in either its historical dimensional structure or in the current dimensional structure. For example if a product was assigned to the wrong brand when it was created and transactions were entered before it was corrected, then Insight can display all the transactions in the correct brand or the brand at the time of the transaction.
In addition locii Insight has the option to create hierarchies that are not available, or cannot be created in the ERP system due to cost or risk to mission-critical data. Insight can display source system and locii Insight specific hierarchies within the same reports to reduce disruption while re-organising structures.
